Local authority sports development officers - Sports development officers who work for local authorities are assigned to one area or city. Their job is to increase the opportunities for sport, both recreational and competitive, in their area for all targets groups.

School sports partnerships SSCOs and FESCO's - these are groups of schools working together to develop sport for all young people. The SSCO will visit their schools and organise competitions against the other schools in their partnership.

County Sports Partnerships - These partnerships involve groups of different organisations in a local area which aim to provide one single system for sport and local people to benefit from. Schools and colleges who have SSCOs and FESCO's are part of the partnership.
