Age

Exercise is strongly recommended to all ages however, we have seen a growing interest from more and more middle-aged and elderly people to help reduce problematic ageing. People of an older age are more likely to have relatively reduced flexibility, strength, endurance, co-ordination and balance. They are more likely to suffer from arthritis or certain cardio-vascular disorders. Older people can injure more easily, and they recover more slowly.

The type of injury that is most common varies with the age of the subject and also the level of competition. In young children, most injuries are due to falling. In older children, injuries are more common from collisions and violence. In older age groups and in top level sportsmen and women, there are less acute injuries and more overuse injuries and those are due to intrinsic factors.
