Hydration and sport: Signs and symptoms

The Human body is made up of two thirds water, and so water obviously plays an important part in the daily function of a person. This is especially true for a sports performer, who will place greater demand on their stores of water and so will need to replenish these supplies on a regular basis.

Even a small reduction on the total volume of fluid in a person can have a serious effect on their performance, and so having an understanding of the importance of rehydration (keeping fluid levels fully topped up) is crucial if a sports performer is to compete efficiently.
