Governing bodies

Governing bodies of sport are responsible for a specific sport in terms of the rules, structure and development. Governing bodies operate at different levels.

International Governing Body includes all the countries in the world who participate in the sport at an elite level.

National Governing Body includes all the clubs within the country.

Regional Governing Body includes all the clubs within a county.

Local Governing Body includes all the clubs within a district.
