Local authorities

Local authorities (LA's) are also known as the local council. They work closely with the community to promote schemes relating to sport, health and fitness. They implement the schemes that are relevant to their communities working closely with leisure centres, schools and voluntary clubs. They often set up facilities for people to use which are lower rates than privately owned clubs.
