Incorrect technique

The technique of performing an action or specific sport skill is usually dictated by the guidance that the sports participant has received from the PE teacher, coach, trainer, or instructor. This being the case, the coaching and instruction is particularly relevant.

It is very easy for individuals to start to slip from these standards if they are not reinforced at the right time. If correction does not occur the participant can soon start to adopt bad habits in terms of skill level and performance. This incorrect performance of skill can in turn lead to injury problems. An obvious example is weight lifting, where back injuries particularly occur due to incorrect or poor technique.
